- Mechanical Concrete® road base construction is disarmingly simple, faster than conventional road construction methods using compacted crushed stone, and is instantly ready to use as soon as the stone is placed.
- Mechanical Concrete® road construction costs 25 to 50 percent less than conventional construction — and uses general labor, less stone, smaller equipment and less construction energy.
- Mechanical Concrete® reuses and transforms large quantities of waste tires into a valuable construction commodity . . . it’s environmentally friendly and sustainable!
- Mechanical Concrete® reduces low volume road maintenance costs by 50% or more. It is free draining and allows water to pass through it, so it effectively resists pot hole and rut formation and erosion
- Mechanical Concrete® solves a variety of low volume road problems: it is a completely new way to more effectively use crushed stone, natural and recycled aggregates and to stabilize indigenous materials.
Engineering Specs
Mechanical Concrete® offers a minimum 200 pounds per square inch (14.4 tons per square foot) working strength. Its load bearing capacity is limited primarily by the subgrade conditions. On average 10 to 12 typical size auto tires can create one cubic yard of Mechanical Concrete® and 12,000 tire-derived-cylinders create one 12 foot lane mile.
